The Sustainability Event in Faro, Portugal, took place on 17 November 2025 at the Municipal Public Library of Faro, bringing together community members, young participants, policymakers, youth stakeholders, teachers and educators who worked with student teams throughout the MC-YOU project.
The event featured testimonies from young participants, teachers and youth stakeholders involved in the MC-YOU project and marked the inauguration of the exhibition “Minecraft as an Educational Tool for Youth Participation in Faro”, which was on public display in the Atrium of the Faro Municipal Public Library from 17 to 29 November 2025.
The exhibition showcased the seven youth-created visions for public spaces in Faro, developed by the following MC-YOU teams:
- Bob Crafters – Praça José Afonso
- Divas Pink – Praça António Sérgio
- Engarrafados – Praça António Sérgio
- Especialistas MC – Praceta Eng. Duarte Pacheco
- Os Aventureiros – Praceta Eng. Duarte Pacheco
- SRRBL – Praça de Tânger
- Tropa do Farense – Praça de Tânger

The exhibition also featured four minecraft models developed in 2025 within the initiative MI.MOMO – Minecraft and Modernist Architecture in Faro, celebrating the use of Minecraft as an innovative educational and participatory tool in Faro.
Through the MC-YOU project in Faro, young participants have presented inspiring visions for Faro’s public spaces, sparking meaningful reflections on the city’s future and quality of life. Their work powerfully demonstrates the potential of young people as agents to more inclusive, creative and sustainable communities.
